Sun Village Community Church is a family of faith and a family of friends. God has raised up this body of believers for the support and encouragement of each other and to bring glory to his name. Our purpose as a body of believers is to know God better and to relate the principles of Scripture to our daily lives in order that we might find meaning and purpose in life, and that we might be equipped to serve our Lord.
Dr. Charles Rasmussen is the Senior Pastor of the Community Church At Sun Village. Pastor Chuck served for over 34 years as a Senior Pastor, including 22 years at Desert Hills Evangelical Free Church in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also an adjunct faculty member of Arizona Christian University and earned his Master-Divinity and Doctorate-Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is married to his seminary sweetheart, Marge, and has four adult children and four grandchildren.
The doctrinal position of the Community Church At Sun Village (CCSV) is summed up in the following “Statement of Faith.”
Statement Of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in and practice two ordinances: water baptism upon confession of faith in Christ as personal savior – the outward expression of our inward experience of salvation; and the Lord’s Supper – as an open Communion for all true believers.
